Hadith 31 & 32 — Letting Go and Doing No Harm
An exploration of two foundational hadiths from Imam Nawawi\
As an Imam at LECI, I deliver weekly khutbahs that address the spiritual needs of incarcerated Muslims. I also occasionally give khutbahs at other Islamic centers and events. These sermons blend classical Islamic knowledge with practical guidance for contemporary challenges, offering hope, encouragement, and direction for Muslims navigating life's journey.

We are past the midpoint of Ramadan. The last ten days — the greatest nights of the year — begin in days. This khutbah breaks down the three stages of Ramadan, what to do in the final sprint, how to catch Laylatul Qadr, and how to celebrate Eid with dignity even without an imam present.
A Ramadan khutbah delivered at LECI examining how restriction can become a unique advantage during the blessed month. While those on the outside face the trial of ease and endless distraction, those inside have something powerful removed: the endless pull of the dunya. This sermon delivers a direct action plan for winning Ramadan in a place where the excuses run out.
A Ramadan preparation khutbah examining why the trial of comfort and ease is more dangerous than the trial of hardship. Drawing from the struggles of prisoners, soldiers, and Muslims in war zones who hold firm to their faith despite adversity, this sermon challenges us to overcome laziness, distraction, and complacency before the blessed month arrives.

My approach to delivering khutbahs is rooted in making Islamic teachings accessible and relevant to contemporary life. Whether addressing incarcerated Muslims facing unique challenges or community members, I strive to connect timeless Islamic wisdom with practical solutions for today's world. Each khutbah aims to inspire positive change, strengthen faith, and build stronger Muslim communities.
The khutbahs presented here are based on my written notes and have been formatted as readable articles. The actual spoken khutbah may differ from what is written here. Due to security restrictions at correctional facilities, I am not permitted to bring recording devices or even wear a watch - only a few pages of handwritten notes are allowed. Therefore, no audio or video recordings are available for most khutbahs.
Note: All khutbahs dated before August 2025 were mass imported using an automated tool and may contain citation errors, formatting inconsistencies, or other minor issues from the import process. These are being gradually reviewed and corrected.
